Our new consultant Raphaël has a non-linear resume
In which function do you work at linkyard and how will your work look like?
On the one hand, I act as a senior project manager in which function I support and represent linkyard in the provision of its services to its customers, and on the other hand, I act as an account manager for North-West Switzerland, where we as linkyard would like to gain a stronger foothold.
Describe your background.
My career is characterized by the fact that it was by no means linear. After business school, I decided to catch up on my Matura and went back to high school to study business in St. Gallen and enjoy student life to the full.
After graduating, I started my career in management consulting. This had the advantage that I was able to look into many companies and industries in a short time. This period was also characterized by my first contact with IT, as we carried out IT system integrations, and the gathering of my first international experience, as I worked exclusively abroad during these three years.
In the following years, I worked mainly in the field of supply chain management and logistics. First at a logistics service provider, where I was in charge of the internal global IT consulting, then as a technical expert at a large software manufacturer, followed by the activity as project manager and key account manager at another logistics service provider mainly in the Middle East and finally I was in charge of the project and IT department of a company specialized in customs clearance.
After this was integrated into the group, I was then project manager for various national and international projects. After a one-year sabbatical, which I used to take care of my daughter, I returned to consulting. I then worked in IT, project management and finance for clients in the space and certification sector. Before I joined linkyard now, I was working as a freelancer for IT transformation in various projects.
Due to my experience, I bring an extreme breadth in topics and subject areas as well as the knowledge of a wide variety of industries.
How would you describe yourself in one sentence?
Open, honest and direct paired with a large portion of empathy, social competence and humor, someone who does not always take himself quite seriously, is uncomplicated and yet knows very well what he wants, sees his family as his refuge, his friends as enrichment and work as a balance, lives according to the motto "Carpe Diem" and satisfies his curiosity through travel and literature.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Certainly my family and my daughter, she is the greatest gift I have received. The time at home with you, our cats and our dog is very lively and varied. Since we live in the green, the walks are the order of the day and the gardening is also not to be underestimated. Convivial evenings with friends are part of the program, as well as excursions and city trips with the family.
My wanderlust, which I discovered as a teenager backpacker, is still unchecked. Therefore, I have set myself the goal to travel to two new countries every year.
When I'm not at home, you can find me either at the gym, at the Joggeli, on a convertible tour or in a restaurant, because I love to try out culinary delicacies. I also like to stand behind the stove myself to cook new and exciting recipes.
Why is the earth round?
THE earth is not round, it is a geoid 🙂
