Our new consultant Raphaël has a non-linear CV
What is your role at Linkyard and what will your work look like?
On the one hand, I act as a senior project manager in whose role I support and represent Linkyard in providing its services to its customers and, on the other hand, I act as an account manager for North-West Switzerland, where we as Linkyard would like to gain more foothold.
Describe your career path
My career path is characterized by the fact that it was by no means linear. After graduating from business school, I decided to catch up on my Matura and went back to high school to study economics in St. Gallen and enjoy student life to the fullest.
After graduation, I started my career in management consulting. This had the advantage that I was able to look into many companies and industries in a short period of time. This period was also characterized by my first contact with IT, as we carried out IT system integrations, and the gaining of initial international experience, as I worked exclusively abroad during these three years.
In the following years, I worked mostly in the areas of supply chain management and logistics. First at a logistics service provider, where I was able to manage internal global IT consulting, then as a specialist at a large software manufacturer, followed by work as a project manager and key account manager at another logistics service provider mostly in the Middle East, and finally I led the project and IT department of a company that specialized in customs clearance.
After this was integrated into the Group, I was then project manager for various national and international projects. After a one-year break, which I used to take care of and care for my daughter, I am back in counseling. I then worked in IT, project management and finance for customers in the space and certification sector. Before I joined linkyard, I worked as a freelancer for IT transformation in various projects.
Based on my experience, I have an extremely broad range of topics and areas of expertise as well as knowledge of a wide range of industries.
How would you describe yourself in one sentence?
Open, honest and direct paired with a large portion of empathy, social skills and humor, someone who doesn't always take himself completely seriously, is straightforward and yet knows exactly what he wants, sees the family as his place of care, his friends as an asset and the work as a balance, lives according to the motto “Carpe Diem” and satisfies his curiosity through travel and literature.
What do you enjoy about your free time?
Certainly my family and daughter, she is the greatest gift I have received. The time spent at home with you, our cats and our dog is very lively and varied. Since we live in green spaces, walks are the order of the day and gardening should also not be underestimated. Social evenings with friends are just as much a part of the program as trips and city trips with the family.
My wanderlust, which I discovered as a backpacker as a teenager, is still unabated. That is why I have set myself the goal of visiting two new countries every year.
When I'm not at home, you can find me either in the gym, in a joggeli, on a convertible tour or in a restaurant, as I love to try out culinary delights. I also like to stand behind the stove myself to cook new and exciting recipes.
Why is the earth round?
The earth is not round, it is a geoid 🙂
