Ice hockey, traveling and programming: Our new consultant Rico

In which function do you work at linkyard and how will your work look like?

I work in consulting, where I support our customers in their projects in the conception, development and implementation of solutions that meet their requirements.

Describe your background.

I started my professional career with an apprenticeship as an electronics technician with a vocational baccalaureate, where I got my first taste of the digital world and programming. However, as I was interested in a broader field, I went on to study industrial engineering with a double degree in computer engineering and mechanical engineering. I then looked for my first job in IT, which I found at T-System. There I was able to expand my knowledge and skills in various positions and also gain international experience. I ended up working there as Product Owner Application Services and also had a small number of projects as a Digital Solutions Engineer. After taking a career break to travel with my girlfriend, which we had been planning for some time, I quickly found myself at linkyard.

How would you describe yourself in one sentence?

An open-minded, empathetic and conscientious person who is always up for a few words.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

My biggest hobby is ice hockey, which takes up a lot of my time during the season. Apart from that, you can see my roots in the Bernese Oberland, as most of my hobbies revolve around the mountains: Skiing, mountaineering, climbing/bouldering etc.

Do stairs lead up or down?

You can also fly upwards and downwards ;)
