Our new software engineer makes programs run with his soft voice

What is your role at Linkyard and what will your work look like?

linkyard is expanding and trying to satisfy its customers from all sides. This includes developing new products for them and adapting the software to their needs. This is where I come in as a software engineer to make this. linkyard crossed country and language borders to hire me and I'm really glad they did.

My current role at the company is working on Atlassian applications and adapting them to customer needs. I sit behind my computer pretty much all day and try with the softest and smoothest voice I can muster to convince the applications in question to behave the way they want.

Describe your career path

I'm not interested in dropping company names and listing projects I've worked on here. You can read that in my resume and LinkedIn profile. Instead, I'm going to talk briefly about the driving force behind my career.

I'm a developer at heart. I like having machines do things for us. Especially when these things are very repetitive and boring. I'd rather spend extra time automating tasks than getting bored doing them over and over and over again. This mentality set me on the path to studying computer science and becoming a backend developer. Since then, I've spent the last decade honing my skills in various projects across Central Europe. As I am not afraid of a challenge, my tasks included a variety of different areas: from system administration to various middleware applications to front-end and web design; this makes me a versatile full-stack developer. And I'm continuing to learn and improve my skills daily. Computers are fascinating in every way, and I try my best to learn as much as I can about them. After all, they are nothing more than minerals into which we have instilled lightning and which we have enabled us to think.

How would you describe yourself in one sentence?

I am an easy-going person with a penchant for learning new and unknown, having interesting discussions and getting to know new people, while making them feel relaxed in my presence with some tasteful jokes and interesting anecdotes, keeping my work on software projects or activities in various areas professional, detail-oriented and well-documented in order to be able to deliver high-quality software products and solutions that I rely on Personally very I am proud of taking time to enjoy the little things in life, such as hiking, playing with my cat and expanding the limits of what it means to describe yourself in just one sentence.

What do you enjoy about your free time?

I am very interested in software development, which often affects my free time. I work on various projects and hobbies, sometimes so much that I neglect sleep. Still, I need a break from time to time, and every week I roam through nature, visiting steep Swiss hills, charismatic old towns and beautiful clear lakes.

Why is water wet?

Because fish pee in it.:)
