From banking apprenticeship to IT consultant: We welcome Alex to linkyard

What is your role at Linkyard and what will your work look like?

I am employed as a senior IT project manager at linkyard and am happy to support my customers primarily from public administration.

Describe your career path

After completing a banking apprenticeship and training as a developer, I began my more than 20-year career in SAP. As a project manager, I was involved in the SAP rollout in Latin America and expanded my experience as an IT manager in Mexico. Back in Switzerland, I took on management positions in IT service operation and system operation.

At the Panalpina Group, as Head of IT Service Delivery, IT Security Program Manager and ITO Portfolio Manager, I showed my skills in managing services and important programs and projects. These roles enabled me to gain extensive knowledge in managing IT projects and managing IT.

In my current role as an IT consultant at Linkyard, I bring in my extensive experience in IT project management and consulting. In addition to my professional activities, I have continued my education in IT management and blockchain technology, which further deepens my broad expertise in IT.

How would you describe yourself in one sentence?

I am an international, committed team and family person with diverse interests, good-natured and always eager to develop professionally and learn new things.

What do you enjoy about your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family. I like to cook, keep up to date with modern technologies and try not to neglect my fitness. I also visit church once a week. These activities help me to stay balanced and recharge my batteries for my professional tasks.

Do stairs lead up or down?

It depends on the perspective. Stairs are used to move people between different levels, so they can lead both up and down. In a metaphorical sense, I see stairs as a symbol of progress and development — always one step at a time, regardless of whether it's up or down.
