Philosophy meets technology: Our new Support Engineer Daniele has a wide range of interests.

What is your role at Linkyard and what will your work look like?

My role is “Support Engineer”, which means I work on support requests from our customers. At the same time, I am involved in a few long-term projects for the company, sometimes on the technical side, but often and gladly also as a project manager/product owner.

Describe your career path

I studied philosophy for a bachelor's degree (in Rome) and a master's degree (in Tübingen, DE). I then worked in the translation industry for about 10 years - I started as an interpreter and translator for Italian, then I trained in various “affine” areas such as SEO, machine translation, machine learning and agile methods. I was already a Product Owner and Scrum Master at my last employer. By also leading the translations team, I was able to help introduce AI and LLM in content production and translation.

How would you describe yourself in one sentence?

Difficult... hopefully a sequence of qualities works too... I would say inquisitive, empathetic, sensitive, humorous

What do you enjoy about your free time?

Spending time with my kids, reading, listening to (and occasionally playing) music. Recently I also started experimenting with single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi.

Are zebras black with white stripes or white with black stripes?

Wait, I thought zebras were colorful?!?
