Marcel, the new consulting CEO
Marcel will take up the position of CEO of linyard consulting ag on March 1, 2020. In this interview, you'll get to know him better.
How did you come up with the idea that you wanted to work for Linkyard?
I knew Mario (one of the managing partners of linkyard ag) even before I started working. Through my previous work, I immediately recognized the great potential of linkyard. I was and am convinced that I could quickly contribute my consulting expertise to the company and that we will thus generate business value for ourselves and our customers. It was therefore clear to me that I wanted to join Linkyard. In my opinion, the skills now available in the linkyard eco system have an enormous leverage effect.
For me personally, an open corporate culture and the individual development of people are very important. Among other things, these points were decisive.
What is your role at Linkyard and what will your work look like?
As a single point of contact for our customers, I represent the consulting sector in the position of CEO. For me, flawless consulting services are essential. It is still important to ensure that added value is generated for the customer as quickly as possible. Here I pay attention to high-quality advice at competitive prices. Our growth in consulting is certainly one of my main tasks. I can do this with our USP: We are not only “consultants” but also “makers.”
What are you most excited about working at Linkyard?
I am looking forward to meeting many new people and achieving our goals. But what I am most looking forward to is being able to see how people develop.
Describe your career path
I think I have an unusual career path. In the beginning, I did an apprenticeship as a retail employee. I quickly came to the conclusion that I wanted to do something different and then set foot in industry, in the coffee machine sector. I quickly took on the position of Deputy Head of Purchasing and Quality Manager. After completing my studies, I took on departmental responsibility at Swiss Post. I acted as head address manager there. Due to my joint responsibility for a number of major IT projects, I quickly got both feet in the ICT sector. Inspired by my specialization in the areas of innovation management, strategy and organizational development, I then decided to work as an independent consultant. As a member of the management team at a Bernese consulting company, I was then responsible for the area of business innovation and worked as an account manager or senior project manager.
As a culmination of my career, I have now become a partner at linkyard.
How would you describe yourself in one sentence?
I see myself as an impatient, honest, ambitious but actually empathetic person and always strive for win-win situations. However, people who know me can better describe what I really am.
Why is water wet?
Because the banana is crooked.
